The iF Concept Design Award

The iF Concept Design Award is one of the world’s most important design competitions for young design talent - with approx. 11,000 entries in 2012 alone.

To reflect the range of contributions, the iF concept design award accepts entries in four categories with several sub-categories. The main categories are:

• product design / industrial design
• communication design / multimedia design
• fashion design
• architecture / interior design

Furthermore there are five fields of change, the trend roots:

• Social Change
• Cultural Change
• Economic Change
• Ecological Change
• Technological Change

They indicate a change in society that the entry is most likely to achieve. When registering, every entry has to be assigned to one category and to one trend root. The jury reserves the right to assign the entry to a different category or trend root.

Moreover, for the third time there will be a special prize as part of the iF Concept Design Award: the "Hansgrohe Preis 2013: Efficient Water Design", calling for entries on the theme of "My Open Shower Space".

All entries to the iF concept design award 2013 that relate to this theme, can also be submitted to the Hansgrohe Preis.

The intellectual property rights of all submitted designs remain with the participants. The organizers will not implement any concepts submitted to the iF Concept Design Award.
